Sentosa's History
Sentosa was known as Pulau Blakang Mati which was once a fishing village. It became a british military fortress during the second world war, artillery guns were set up and was a prisoner of war camp after the Japanese invaded Singapore for Australian and British prisoners. One of the beaches was also used as a killing field. In 1967, the island was handed over to the new independent Singapore Government and then it was decided that Sentosa be developed into a holiday resort. "Sentosa" which means peace and tranquility in Malay was finally chosen as the is;and's name after the public was invited to suggest names for it.

Mandy's ReflectionThrough this project, I found out things that I've never explored before in Sentosa. Groupmates are very cooperative in this project. I also found out about sentosa's history in their website. It have been interesting to do this too.
Meiyi's Reflection
Through this project,I have learnt many things, not only about the history of sentosa but also about the places in sentosa. It is a fun learning experience to go there with my friends and learn together. Although we did not spend the whole day there, we can still have fun going around most of the different places like the butterfly kingdom and all. I hope we would have more projects like this in the future which is not only experienceing but also enriching.

Wei Xuan's Reflection
In this project, my job was to do research on the operating time and transportation of sentosa. I did my part by researching in internet and also collected information in sentosa when we went there as a group. I managed to post the operating time and transportation, and it was important because people need to know how to get there. There were no difficulties working with my teammates because they were very cooperative. We had fun at the same time. Some difficulties I faced in this project was that ii was unable to phrase the information ii gathered together. In the start, I was not sure how I am supposed to post it. But after some explanation from my friends, I managed to understand what I was supposed to do. I have learnt from this project that teamwork and sharing of information is needed to finish this project successfully.

My job in this project is to research on the promotions in sentosa during the school holiday. I managed to find out what are the promotions in sentosa during the current December holiday. I collected informations at both Internets and sentosa. I think I played my part in the project, as I was able to finish my part of research. There was no difficulties working together with my team mates. We distributed our jobs evenly. Everyone was willing to cooperate with one another. I did not face any problem during this project. I have learnt that teamwork and communication is needed to complete the whole project

From this project, I have learnet alot about Sentosa like its history and how the name Sentosa came about and its meaning. I also found out that there are many new attractions at Sentosa since the last time I went there. Before the project, I didn't know there were three beaches in Sentosa and that there were tours available at Fort Siloso. I'm sure to visit Sentosa again and working with my groupmates if fun and they have helped with the research and are always reminding each other to post.
